Japp Screen marks the first 3-dimensional exploration of Channapatna craft. The surface wraps entirely around the form, moving beyond its traditionally flat expression. Rendered in deep brown tones, the piece recalls prayer beads and meditative counts, while its woven surface draws from Japanese bundling and African braiding. A parchment-lined core emits a soft internal light, giving the object a contemplative presence. Japp Screen exists between sculpture and textile—ordered, immersive, and meditative.
